Wherever you are on your journey, my goal is to help kindle a light on your path.
Whether in the midst of a major life transition or loss, struggling with mental health challenges, or simply desiring a safe place to grow, I’d love to support you or your family at my central Franklin office, or from the comfort of home through online sessions.
How liberating it is to find a safe place to process difficulties, get to know and accept all the parts of ourselves, connect to a deeper sense of self, and find a more foundational and longer lasting sense of wellness.
As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being. ~Carl Jung

Hi, I’m Corin Stephenson.
I’m a counselor for individuals, adolescents, and families.
We all can benefit at times from the reminder that it is through our very deepest wounds, sufferings, and experiences of darkness, where we are most able to discover our inner light and resilience. As Leonard Cohen so famously sang:
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in
Using evidence-based therapies, I work from the wisdom that no matter how burdened or broken we may feel, we all have a wellspring of wholeness and healing within that we only need the encouragement and skill of a trained guide to help rediscover.
WHAT I SPECIALIZE IN

Individual Counseling
Individual therapy is a great place to learn about personal patterns and gain an expansion of choices. With more choice you can see what is or isn’t working for you, learn new skills to break through old patterns, and learn how to integrate all the parts of yourself in to an integrated wholeness. Gaining a better relationship with yourself and others and finding more authenticity and empowerment is an important goal.

Adolescents
The goal of therapy with teens is to help them learn how to navigate challenges in healthy ways. It also gives teens a safe place to explore growing independence and personal feelings in a confidential way. Therapy may include identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors, management of emotions, improving relationships and communication, reduction of self-destructive behaviors, family sessions, art therapy, and games for communication and connection.

Family Counseling
Children and their parents face increasingly difficult challenges in today’s world. As a mother myself, I have a passion for staying on top of the most current research in child and family psychology and helping families find hope and resilience. Family therapy can be beneficial for families experiencing a wide range of issues, such as relationship conflicts, mental health problems, substance abuse, divorce, or major life transitions.

CLIENT SUCCESS STORIES

I know the face of compassion and intuition, it belongs to Corin Stephenson. More than once she has picked up my pieces and helped me rearrange the dynamics of my situation.

Working with Corin has been an incredibly helpful experience for me. She has a way of making you feel heard and understood without any pressure or pretense.
Conversations with her feel natural and effortless, yet she helps you navigate to the heart of the issue in a way that brings real clarity. Her down-to-earth approach creates a space where it’s easy to open up, reflect, and grow. If you’re looking for a therapist who is both insightful and approachable, I can’t recommend her enough.
